Applicable to WAG, all levels and all events
Definition: Applying a high level of effort in order to move with strength and speed; maintaining energy throughout the routine. Or the simple definition is making the difficult look easy! Insufficient dynamics is a general, or overall, deduction that is applied at the end of the routine. On the meetcritique platform, these deductions are listed after the routine ends.
- On bars, beam and floor judges can take a general deduction for dynamics of up to -0.2.
- On vault, judges can take up to -0.3 for dynamics.
Explanation: Judges assess the overall dynamics of a routine by looking for the following:
- Vault – overall speed and power of the vault.
- Bars – showing a powerful swing from the beginning to the end, maintaining correct body position throughout the routine, and hitting required amplitude in cast positions.
- Beam – Performing leaps, jumps and acrobatic skills with ample height and extension off the beam; performing choreography to the fullest extent.
- Floor – Tumbling passes and leaps/jumps easily completed; performing choreography to the fullest throughout the routine.
