Sample meetcritiques

Our nationally-certified judges can provide meetcritiques for men’s USAG Levels 3-10, women’s USAG Levels 2-10 and all Xcel levels. We also support NGA levels on the women’s side as well as all levels of T&T.

Each meetcritique notates level-specific bonuses and deductions timestamped in real-time. And in the Judge’s Notes and Recommendations section, three tips and observations will be provided to give your gymnast valuable insight into improving their score.

Women’s USAG XCEL Platinum Vault

Judge’s Notes & Recommendations:

1) You have a nice, tight body posture throughout the entire vault. Nice job keeping your legs together on the preflight. A lot of gymnasts have issues with that. Great stick! In Platinum the vault has 9.7 start value. 2) This vault starts with a nice, strong run. We want to see you pick up speed as you approach the table, not slow down. This also gives your vault more power and dynamics. Keep your body nice and tight on the table. 3) Keep practicing your shoulder pops. On the vault we want to see you block off the table immediately upon your hands hitting. Hands hit and you shoulder pop off. This is what gives your vault height and allows you to leave the table when you are in the nice upside down handstand position.

Women’s USAG Level 6 Uneven Bars

Judge’s Notes & Recommendations:

1. Way to work those bars! Great cast and free hip height, I love the giants and doing it without grips is even more impressive! 2. Work on the staying hollow throughout the whole routine. All your skills are great there’s just minor details. Being more hollow when you’re going into your giant will help you stay in a good position on the way up as well. 3. When you shift think about locking out your elbows and shifting through your wrist so that you are able to maintain a straight arm position during your whole routine 🙂

Women’s USAG Level 9 Floor

Judge’s Notes & Recommendations:

1) Nice routine, A****y. You have all the pieces for a great level 9 routine! Good control on your double turn. Nice height on your front full. This routine has a 10.0 start value. You do have a compositional deduction of 0.1 for up to the level of acro. 2) When you do two saltos in a row, we want to see the second salto be the highest. In this routine your second salto was lower than your back 1 1/2. After your roundoff, you are twisting off the floor for your back 1 1/2. Remember to set up before you twist. Then squeeze your legs very tight so there is no bend and your feet stay together. You also landed with your feet right underneath you. Work to have your feet more in front of you which will help with the height on your front pike. 3) Continue to work on your dynamic flexibility. We expect a big split of 180 degrees for any split jump or leap in optional levels, and yours was not there. Remember to push all the way through your toes and pull up hard on your legs. Use your arms to help give you more air time. Then on your wolf jump, we expect your straight leg to be at least at horizontal. Keep working! You’ll get there!

Women’s USAG Level 3 Beam

Judge’s Notes & Recommendations

1) Nice job, B****y! Great height on your leap and stretch jumps. Good fight to stay on the beam after your split leap. This is a nice level 3 routine hitting all your elements. You should be proud of your hard work. 2) In your handstand and dismount, remember to push through your shoulders and keep you ears by your arms. Pull your belly in and work to get your toes directly over your hands before you step down or turn for your dismount. 3) Throughout your routine remember to have strong body posture. Pull your belly in. Lift your head tall. Pull your shoulders back and down. Squeeze all your muscles. And when you walk, make sure your big toe is turned to the outside of the beam. Try to walk on your toes first, then the ball of your foot, then finally the heels.

Men’s USAG Level 8 Parallel Bars

Judge’s Notes & Recommendations:

1. Start Value: 13.8 – from a skills performed point of view, this is a very strong routine. 2. Working on getting the hips higher on the front uprise – this takes more power in your swing. 3. Continue working on the peach to L and keeping the arms straight. The arms bend a lot during this skill.
